The equipment that makes it all possible.

It all started with a borrowed GoPro in a waterproof housing. From my tenth dive onwards I always had a camera with me. No masterpieces came out of it, but plenty of good memories and experience. Over the years, higher-resolution systems kept arriving on the market. After a few GoPros I decided to upgrade. Next came a Lumix LX100 in an inexpensive plastic underwater housing. After a handful of dives I had my first – and so far only – flood. The camera was destroyed instantly; it stood no chance against the salt water. I bought a replacement, but I knew another upgrade was due. For my travels I first bought a Nikon Z6, and shortly afterwards a Nikon Z6II instead. An aluminium housing was needed, and Isotta turned out to be exactly the right manufacturer. The setup was already 90 % there, but I still was not entirely happy with the camera. Then Nikon presented the Z8. After that it moved quickly: sell the previous gear, buy a Nauticam housing and the camera. Every dive with this equipment teaches me something new. Lights and a monitor followed, I built myself a custom trim rail system and started printing individual parts myself. By now, after a wonderful dive trip to the Azores, the system is exactly what I always wanted it to be.
